How To Link Your Social Media Accounts

0 1650

Okay, so this is kind of a follow on to the How To Use Social Media To Promote Your Vlogs post that I did a while back so this is how to link the social medias to get them to work for you.

So lets go through each of the different ones and the others that you can link to and which ones you should do.

First up is YouTube

Now, on YouTube you can link your Twitter account to post direct to Twitter whenever you either like a video, post a video or post a video to a playlist. It’s easy to do and it’s something I recommend everyone should do because when you like a video and that then gets shared on your Twitter profile it is probably one of the best and most helpful things you can do for the YouTuber as that could potentially bring in another person that watches their video and could bring new subscribers to their door.

Now to set it up all you need to do is sign into YouTube and then click on the Avatar of your account in the top right of your browser window.

Click on the Connected Accounts menu item then click on the Connect button besides the Twitter box. Then enter your Twitter username and password in the input fields in the pop-up window. Click the blue “Authorize App” button to connect Twitter to your YouTube channel.

Next click and enable the “Sharing Activity” check boxes beside the YouTube functions that you want to share on the connected Twitter account. Thats pretty much it, there used to be FaceBook and G+ on there but those have been taken off because well FaceBook is a rival and Google Plus + YouTube was a massive failure.

Next up is Twitter

Now, you can connect your Twitter and Facebook accounts so that your Tweets and Retweets will automatically post to your Facebook wall but I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT, they’re two very different platforms with two very different audiences and the amount that people (me) tweet means that your Facebook page will be spammed with posts that have no replies or any context, however, if you really want to post every tweet and RT to your Facebook page here’s how to do it. To connect your Twitter account and your Facebook profile (which you need to do first):
  1. Log in to the Twitter account you want to associate with your Facebook profile.
  2. Go to your Settings menu’s Apps tab.
  3. Click Connect to Facebook.
  4. If you are not already logged in to Facebook, then you will be prompted to enter your Facebook login credentials. Enter your credentials and click Log in to sign in to Facebook.
  5. You will then receive a prompt explaining that Twitter will receive certain information from your Facebook account. In order to continue, you must select “Okay.”
  6. You will then be prompted to select the privacy settings for who will see your Tweets and Retweets posted to your Facebook wall. It is set to friends by default.
  7. Click “Okay” to complete the process.
  8. Your Tweets and Retweets will now post to your profile Facebook wall and your username will be displayed there as well. @Replies will not be posted.
But if you’re a motovlogger you’ll have a page setup so you need to connect that to Twitter as well so that your personal profile isn’t affected. So here’s how to do that:
  1. Follow the steps above to connect to your Facebook profile.
  2. If you have not already done so, visit your Apps settings and grant Twitter the “manage pages” permission for your Facebook profile.
  3. In your Apps settings, Select the page you’d like to connect to.
  4. When prompted, click to allow permission to post to the selected Facebook page.

Then in the Apps menu only choose the post to my Facebook page option and in the dropdown choose your page name.

Next onto Facebook

If you want to post from Facebook direct to Twitter you can do that also, you just need to follow the steps here:

On that page you can link a profile using the green button and following the steps or you can use the text link underneath the green button. You’ll just need to sign into Twitter to Authorize FaceBook to do it.

Now comes what I think is the best for being connected and able to be translated over the multiple platforms…

You can link multiple social medias to your Instagram, so to connect your other social medias follow these steps.

To Link A Facebook Page

To link your Instagram account to your brand’s Facebook Page, you must be an admin of that Page on Facebook. To link Instagram to your Facebook Page:

  1. Go to your Profile and tap the settings icon.
  2. Tap Linked Accounts > Facebook.
  3. Your Instagram account will link to your personal Facebook Timeline by default. To link to a Page instead, tap Facebook and choose a Page that you manage.

iPhone or Windows Phone

  1. Go to your Profile and tap the settings icon.
  2. Tap Linked Accounts > Facebook.
  3. Your Instagram account will link to your personal Facebook Timeline by default. To link to a Page instead, tap Share to and choose a Page that you manage.

So, to link the others you have just do the same thing but choose Twitter and fill in the details etc…

So that’s how to connect all the different social medias to one another but, the best one to share everything to is Instagram, it’s quick, easy and digestible content especially if you put videos up there is well received. # work on all three social medias so you can be found by more people and it ticks all the boxes. Unlike posting everything to Twitter from FaceBook or posting everything from FaceBook to Twitter which can be intrusive, IG seems to be the one to tap into them all, all at once.

And that’s where I’m gonna leave this one as it’s quite a long post. If you found it informative then let me know in the comments below and if you really wanna help a guy out then share this post on your social media’s by using the buttons on the right and letting others know this information. As always thanks for reading this far and I’ll see you fuckers next time.
